Registry Info

We've had a lot of people asking us where we were going to register, so yesterday we went to Sportsman's Warehouse (I know...big surprise) and Target. We are pretty easy, we like to drink red wine and kill things in the woods.
We just added REI and hopefully Cabela's for those not in Idaho.

What to expect

Lib and I want to make this celebration a relaxing day where everyone can enjoy each other's company and the beautiful Montana outdoors. We knew immediately that we had to be married in the mountains. I grew up in Montana but have spent most of my adult life in Seattle. I have always loved being outside, but it wasn't until last summer that I realized when I was out of the city and up in the mountains I truly felt like I was home. Before I met Lib I was trying to figure out how to escape Seattle and find a little cabin on the river. This area means so much to Lib, he knows it like the back of his hand and has spent the last several years out here hunting. He has taken me through this area and I understand completely why he loves it so much. You could travel around the world and have a hard time beating the beauty and peacefulness of this place. Taylor Fork was the only choice for us.

The dress is casual. No one is going to get kicked out for wearing jeans! You can wear anything you like to the wedding itself, although high heels are going to be difficult to walk around in for us ladies (and you might want to save the cammo for afterwards). We suggest that everyone bring a change of clothes to get dirty in. We will be fishing, biking, hiking, shooting our bows, playing horse shoes, roasting marshmallows and whatever else that comes to mind. Bring your rods, your bows, whatever...

Make sure to prepare for anything the weather might bring. August is normally dry and warm, but this is Montana and anything can happen.

We will be providing a great big afternoon BBQ with beverages, kegs and smores later on. If you are camping, bring supplies for the following morning. If you are staying in the cabins, they all have kitchenettes and some have BBQs.

Directions to Taylor Fork

The wedding is located at Taylor Fork, just over 7 miles off the highway that runs from Bozeman to West Yellowstone.

From Bozeman:

Take US 191 into the Gallatin Canyon for 58 miles

(Follow this highway past Big Sky)

Right on Taylor Fork road near mile marker 34, there will be a sign for Nine Quarter Circle Ranch

**If you pass Sage Creek trailhead, you went too far***

Follow the gravel/dirt road 7.2 miles

Turn Left at the fork in the road (Lightening Creek)

The wedding site will be on your left

We will have the road marked as well

For those of you staying at 320 Ranch, the turn off will be on the Left at mile post 36 just before Taylor Fork Road.

Camping Information

The location for the wedding is set back about 7 miles down a forest service dirt/gravel road and there is plenty of camping all along the way. This is a rustic area, so there won't be any hook ups or running water. We will be bringing in some portapotties for the wedding and there is one bathroom at the main parking lot about 2 miles from the site.

Also, this is bear country...grizzly bear country. Make sure if you are camping that you take all the necessary precautions with your food. You definitely don't want to keep your midnight snack in your sleeping bag.

There are some cafes/stores/restaurants down the road near Big Sky if you need anything.

320 Ranch Accomodations

There are still quite a few different sized cabins available at the 320 Ranch. This is located just a few miles from the turn off to Taylor Fork and is a great alternative for anyone who doesn't feel like camping.

Anna is the contact for making reservations. Make sure you let her know you are with the Piper Brown wedding group. She will require one night paid to hold your reservation.
